Record Details | Vocals | Other Notes |
A - BUT I DO | A- Lead vocal Coleen / Anne | Debut single for the Nolan Sisters in their own right. Featured on Cliff Richard's Saturday night show |
A - WON'T YOU MAKE A LITTLE SUNSHINE SHINE | A - Lead Vocal - Maureen | The A side was featured on TV on the Basil Brush show. Despite this it still never charted |
A - OH MY DARLING (PROMO COPY) | A - Lead Vocal - Anne / Denise | Trial copy of intended release. Ultra rare. the song was shelved in favour of 'Rain' |
A - RAIN | A - Lead Vocal - Linda (Refrain Maureen) | The poorest selling Target single |
A - THANKS FOR CALLING | A - Lead Vocal - Maureen | Single was re recorded as the B side to Coleen Nolan's debut solo single "Andy" |
A - WHEN YOU ARE A KING | A - Lead Vocal - Maureen | Song featured on Morcome & Wise Christmas Show - song failed to chart. |
A - LOVE TRANSFORMATION | A - Lead Vocal - Denise | Song was featured in 1977 Dulux Paint's TV Ad campain |
A - LOVE BANDIT | A - Lead Vocal - Denise | Song featured on Two Ronnie Show and was almost a hit. If the present chart system (Top 100) instead of the then top 50 it would have most definately charted and therefore had automatic radio play. Sold 54,000 copies making it the best selling Target Single |
SAMPLE SINGLE | Vocals feature all five Sisters | Promotional record that featured a medley of songs from teh 20 giant hits album on one side and the soundtrack for the the TV commercial repeated three times on the other. Was ent to radio stations etc |
A - DON'T IT MAKE MY BROWN EYES BLUE | A - Lead Vocal - Linda | Song was featured on The Two Ronnies Show - Failed to chart and sold poorly - probably because it was released so close to the original Crystal Gayle chart smash |
MAKE A LITTLE SUNSHINE SHINE / HAVE LOVE WILL TRAVEL | A - Lead Vocal - Maureen | Japan only release. Released on the back of the Nolans success in Japan. The song featured a picture cover, something that did not happen with the UK release 6 years earlier |
A - I'D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING | A - Lead Vocal - Linda | Japan only releae. Strange choice of a single. The A side had been a huge hit in Japan for the New Seekers. The single failed to chart. Neither track featured on and UK rlease by the Nolans |
A - BUT I DO | A - Lead Vocal - Coleen / Anne | Japan only release. Once more to coincide with the Nolans' huge Japanese success. The single had not seen a Japanese release when it was released in the UK. Record giant EMI had rights for the song. Bonus track (C) never saw UK release. It was released with a picture sleeve. Something that the UK release hadn't 18 year previous. |
A - SILENT NIGHT | A - Lead Vocal - The Nolan Family | Japan only release. Following on the back of the Japanese sucesses once more. Released with picture cover. |

THE NOLAN SISTERS 1. Reach Out I'll Be There (B) | Line up was : | Album was recorded privately and sold exclusively at the London Room. The venue that the Nolans had a residency at. It appears limited quantites were sold at Nolans cabaret shows around the UK also. |
TWENTY GIANT HITS | Line up was : | Two versions of this album were made. The one with the tracks listed on the left hand side of the front cover is the rarest and most collectable. It is also the most valuable. The most interesting feature about the front cover of this album is that Linda is not on it! She was ill with diarrhoea the day of the photo shoot and was unable to attend the shoot. A look alike was sourced and used. It was not noticed by anyone and still today most people are unaware of it. However when the album was given a makeover and released in Japan in 1981 the pictures are a lot clearer and feature close up. It can clearly be seen that the person who is purporting to be Linda is a fake! this album was recorded over a one week period which is quite an accomplisment considering the size of the orchestra and the album's arrangements |
*Tracks For The Following Three Albums Are The Same As "TWENTY GIANT HITS" plus five extra track*
| For Tracks | These three albums were released containing the tracks from '20 GIANT HITS' plus five songs. The Collection is a double album with gatefold sleeve, and the "Best Of" albums feature Side One and Two from "The Collection". On The 'Best Of Volume One' and Sides Three and Four on 'The Best Of Volume Two'. The additional tracks were either singles and Coleen's solo effort. |

HARMONY | Line up was : | The album featured all the singles from the Target Records period. This album saw them released on one album for the first time. It was released 2 years after the Nolans had left the Target label. The most upsetting and misleading detail from this album is the ommision of Denise from the front and back cover, and the inclusion of Coleen who did not record a single word on the album. |
TWENTY GIANT HITS (JAPAN ONLY) | Line up was : Anne, Denise, Maureen, Linda, Bernie | Released three years after the UK success of the album. This time with new artwork. The back cover as you can see from the gallery below features the Linda Nolan look alike. |
THE NOLAN SISTERS (JAPAN ONLY) | Line up was : | Although Linda appears on the front cover of this album, check out the outer paper wrapper on the album. It features the look alike (Left hand side). The album was released follwoing the major success the Nolans had had in Japan. |
TWENTY GIANT HITS (UK) | Line up was : | The first of The Nolans albums to be released on CD in the UK. One song (Something Tells Me) replaced 'Money Money Money' the rights payments that the writers (Benny & Bjorn from ABBA) would recieve were too high to justify on a budget priced album, so it was replaced, |
TWENTY GIANT HITS (JAPAN) | Line up was : | Denise not featured on any artwork. Coleen, despite not recording anything on the album shown throughout |
TWENTY GIANT HITS ( 2nd UK RELEASE) | ||
TWENTY GIANT HITS PLUS TARGET RECORDINGS | Line up was : | Double Album released in 2011. Featuring fully remastered tracks and glossy booklet |
